Hey, what’s the news? Throughout the entire history of mankind, news has been a part of our daily lives. Whether you choose to access it on purpose or not, the news is always there! Now, whether or not there’s any actual truth to the news you come across, depends entirely on the source of delivery.
Spread The News
Frank Sinatra’s “Start Spreading The News” seems to set an ideal tone regarding the subject at hand here. Nowadays, for anybody to get noticed on the internet they need to do more than just slap together a page/site. Got a Facebook page you want more than just a tiny handful of your closest associates to visit? You need to broadcast it like a shameless salesman! This also applies to people running blog pages and websites.
So, you’ve created an awesome website, but there’s nobody visiting it! What a shame! Did you do anything special to get that site noticed, like setting up some form of advertising? What did you do to spread the news that you’ve got a good thing going?
As most of you know, advertising costs money! Even word-of-mouth methods of getting the news out about who you are and what you sell have some sort of price tag to it! Typically, the “free” word-of-mouth favors asked of those whom you personally come across means you have to pay them back by performing a favor of your own. Quite often if it’s a shop owner, there’s an offering of a free or discounted service or item.
In every corner of the globe, the news is happening all the time! However, not everything gets to grace the various media networks as news for the audience to learn about! Sometimes it seems what should be on the news gets missed while some topics covered by the journalists seem like it’s something nobody would care about. Interestingly enough, though, even if there’s a piece covered by a media outlet, there will be people who will remember it!
Whether it be good or bad, news of something is always a form of advertising! More often than it deserves, even false stories broadcast as news earns at least enough attention where the primary purpose behind it has been served! (Not just) during the events of World War II, news teams delivered a flurry of propaganda as a means to deceive the audience about how something was going when, in truth, wasn’t the case at all!
Even rumor mills, which are also distorted versions of the news, make an impact! How often have you come across a rumor that prompted you to take action in a manner you’d otherwise never do? For instance, you learn a rumor that your favorite store is going out of business. Just to be sure, you check it out for yourself. Regardless if that rumor is true or not, you still went and paid that store a visit! And, odds are, since it is your favorite store, you likely bought at least one item from it!
How many times have you watched a program on television, only for it to be interrupted by a news piece? As annoying as they can be, it’s there! Should you even use that as your queue to go up and grab a snack from the kitchen, odds are you are at least going to catch a piece of whatever it was that cut the program you were watching!
A president holds a news conference about some given crisis, alerting the audience to what the government in charge intends to do about it. No matter what you think of it, the bottom line is you will have at least a little bit of memory from it! Even if you come across a ludicrous bit about a person doing something really silly in your eyes, your opinion about it at this point doesn’t matter! It made the news! And, agree with it or not, that piece of news just lodged itself into your memory!
Advertising Is News
As mentioned previously, the news is an advertisement in its own right! Something just got talked about, which is always accompanied by a variety of sources and references for identification purposes. Sometimes the news also comes with instructions and/or recommendations. All those believing what they come across will follow it! Others typically perform some cross-referencing to determine if the news they learned is for real. Fake news or not, the advertising behind it has already been done!
We live in a highly commercialized world! In truth, advertising is always news! The announcement of anything, intended as such or not, is advertising! Advertising is always news as it aims to achieve two key elements, which are naming names and offering every form of additional detail possible to get the primary point across!
Do You Have News?
So, you happen to be among the many who have something going for yourself, but it just hasn’t done anything since its initial startup. Why is that? Is it because you haven’t found a way to become newsworthy enough to get the attention you need? Are you among the majority who know you have something good going, but are unable to do as much with it as you’d like?
If you have been paying attention while reading this particular article, then you’ve seen the little ads that have been placed, here and there, all along. They are there for a reason! And no, not strictly for my own purposes! They are there for yours! For the most part, you are here, reading this, because you know you need to do something to boost awareness where your site is concerned!
Assuming you know you’ve just read an article written by the Quality Writers Network, then you know we can help you come up with something that you can put forth as your brand of news.
